I wanted my dream to go on to some conclusion, but the cat and the alarm clock interrupted me. I wanted to know why I was back in journalism, and why Jude Law gave me his phone number.

Our company holiday party is the first weekend in December. I'm trying to decide if I want to go, because on one hand the thought of spending the money to dress up and hangout with those people makes me uneasy. On the other, it's in the Driskill Hotel, which is way out of price range. It's old, it's beautiful and I've always wanted to run around in there. What they don't tell you on their website is that the place is also haunted.

Colonel Driskill smokes cigars and turns on the lights in upper floor guest rooms, haunting the hotel he built in 1886. The deceased daughter of a senator bounces a ball and giggles down the grand staircase. Mrs. Bridges rearranges invisible flowers in the lobby. Be careful getting off the elevator - you may run into Mr. Lawless checking his watch. "Suicide Bride #1" has been spotted in the balcony level ladies' room - peering under stalls. "Suicide Bride #2", who recently died in the hotel, has been seen emerging from the elevator on the fourth floor of the traditional side - arms loaded with packages. The elevators are the focus of all kinds of paranormal activity. The Driskill is probably Texas' most haunted hotel.
