whiskey sour
I have the appropriate warm glow in my belly from a couple whiskey sours at the Mesa Hill Cafe. It's a fabulous little neighborhood place that Sarah introduced me to, with a perfect bar/smoking section! It's sad but true, the cigarette smoke gave me a brief spring of joy. We chatted, and snarked and had a delightful time.
Really, it made me day end up so much nicer to have a drink with a friend.
Edward and Joan are visiting, and there will be brunching tomorrow! Yay brunching!

Cate writes well, with wit and style and a brilliant insight into human hearts. I've read a lot of things from her that stay with me, that rock that secret hollow of my soul.
But I have never read anything, anything at all, that spoke like this. You should read this. It is one of the most eloquent, moving things I have ever heard from a person about love.
We always break through that extra wall in LJ space, to grasp hands with our audience or provoke. It's a good thing.
