myrhapsody posted her chocolate cake recipe and I'm thinking it might be time to break out the cake pans. I have those adorable bundt pans after all. I also want to make some cookies with the chocolate and peanut butter chips. I love working on something in the kitchen, the smell of sugar and flour and butter.
It's funny, I love sweets. I love making them. But when I make them, I'm never all that enthused to eat them. I just want to give them to other people to enjoy. There's a deep satisfaction to be had out of making food for other people to enjoy. I don't think I even ate one of the sugar cookies I made for Tyler, but I did eat some of the pie I made for Melynda. I can't help it, I love pie. I need to find my Luby's ice box pie recipe. My mother's cookbooks are somewhere. That would also be fun to make.
My only real problem is that I end up baking so much stuff that I run out of people to foist it off on at the end of the day. But my supervisor is changing units and I'm sad. He's the best boss I've had in a long while. So I think I'll make something tasty and bring it in to share with my unit at work.
