can't stop the signal
Oct. 4th, 2005 09:44 amI feel like a stone has lifted from me. The weight of all that has happened is lessened.
We are so frail, and so imperfect. There are things that I have done in my life that I should be ashamed of, people I have wronged and things left undone. But I do not feel as if I should bear any shame from this. Piece by piece, I'm letting these things go.
My mother said to me last night, "Things change. Good things and bad things, they all change."
-----
Yesterday I saw Serenity. It wasn't what I expected really, and it had a different vibe than the series. But overall, I enjoyed it. I gnawed on my fingers through the end.
I have more tea than I know what to do with these days. Black tea, fruit tea, herbal tea, spicy tea.
Yesterday I also received a package from a kind person named Laura. Inside was an overwhelming gift. First, there was a painting. It's haunting and beautiful and strange all at once. I love it. There's a book of tiaras, including the original of the one I bought for my wedding. There was a bounty of soaps and BPAL scents. Carnival Noir! I was thunderstruck by Laura's generous heart. Thank you, thank you, for sending these things to me.
I shared the soaps with my mother and sister. Good gifts should be shared.
-----
My grandparents are coming to visit soon. I'm working a short week this week. Tonight I'm seeing Corpse Bride with my sister. The OU game is this weekend.
