This morning I went to the Empty Bowl project with Stacy and friends. It's a fund raiser done by Clayways Studio and benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Basically, they get their students and professionals and elementary school kids to make hundreds and hundreds of unique bowls. Local businesses donate soups and bread. You go in, pick out a bowl or a couple, and they will fill your bowl with tasty soup. The bowls are $15 a pop, and it's a pretty good deal. I picked out a beautful black, almost iridescent bowl, and a brown one with crimped edges to use as an ashtray. They are lovely things. I ate the garlic tomato bisque with some delicious baguette. They have live music, and an auction of bowls made and signed by celebrities. It's fabulous. They do almost no advertising and still get a huge turnout. There were 2400 bowls available today. I think this is the 5th or 6th year for the fundraiser.

Eric showed me the mysteries of the power supply, so I picked up a new one and installed it in my machine today. I was pleased that it was much easier than I imagined. For all the technically inclined folks I've dated, I've never learned to do enough on my own. But I'm happy that I got this working. I'm installing WoW on the machine now, so soon I will be able to play!
