temptation, frustration
Dec. 1st, 2005 06:10 pmIt is so nice when my country is suddenly more ass backwards than South Africa. Sheesh.
Today I worked on the e-reports, which is an interesting trial. YOu don't have to talk to anyone, but you have to figure out why someone would provide the most minimal, non-descriptive information ever and expect a caseworker to know what the hell is going on. But still, I like them. I received compliments from two different supervisors about my work today, and that was nice. It feels good to know I'm doing things well. (And perhaps even better to know that someone recognizes that.)
In the past week or so I've been hit with horrible temptation to buy a lot of things. I'm resisting as much as I can. I haven't bought any of it. Oh, but it is so hard when Wearable Sculpture has some of the most beautiful shiny objects ever along with the new earring club special, and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab has an incredible amount of fantastic scents. I've been sighing over various bath bombs at Skindazzles, and longing for more scrubby smooch from Villainess. Not so long ago I was gifted with a lemon meringue body butter from Jaqua and I love it so much that I want to try the orange, marshmallow cocoa and buttercream ones.
I suppose that's the nice thing about online shopping. I can sigh over these things, and there are no hovering salespeople poking me with sharp sticks to get me to open my wallet. My impulse control is normally pretty good. I admit that I went through an awful phase of buying stuff this year, partially due to the divorce and resulting chaos from being thrown out of my life. I'm trying to keep myself back in line. But I swear Kythryne will be the death of me. I've purchased more jewelry from her this year than I have for myself in the past few years.
Almost time to run away. I'm off to hang out with Stacy and folk, play a little D&D. Anxiously awaiting the weekend, Melynda, chili, and cold fun at the lake.
