Dec. 8th, 2005 09:27 amBecause of geography, weather and politics, we don't have lots of city equipment to handle ice and freezing weather. So what might be a mild winter day in Washington shuts everything down for us. There are road closures in the Hill Country, and half the traffic cameras are useless due to ice. There's ice all around outside, so I'm not going anywhere. I've been up for two hours and the temperature has only shifted a degree to 23. I don't trust my ability to get across the bridge and up the hill, and certainly not in my new car. Last night's skid freaked me out a bit.
So... ice day! Whee.
Cold, cold. It's the sliding glass door, I suppose. My laptop keeps me warm instead. I didn't want to get up this morning, from my strange dream about going to see the new James Bond movie with my date BD Wong. Clearly, I am watching too much SVU.
