I think I managed to chase out last night's ghosts. Halfway through my movies and wine interlude, the phone call invited me out to this random bar just on the other side of the smoking ban. It was a good thing to just hang out, drink a few beers, laugh and forget about all those responsibilities and worries and random things that percolate in the back of the brain. Tyler and Jody didn't make it to their country concert, so they came back to drink up a storm and alternately curse and praise the juke box.

I feel better for it today. Not that drinking is the answer to all life's problems, but maybe just going out and living exactly in that moment. Aside from a mild headache, I'm pretty good. A nap on the sofa, then crawling into bed. Outside there's steady gentle rain. Couldn't ask for a better change.
