Apr. 1st, 2006 01:16 pmI broke down and bought sunscreen today. It's humid and hot outside. Almost enough to make me want to put on the swimsuit and go drape myself lizard style out in the sun. At least there is a breeze.
My mother is irritated because the freakish weather has messed with all the plants. Her mountain laurels haven't bloomed at all because of the drought. I finally started seeing wildflowers a couple days ago, tiny patches of bluebonnets, primroses and mexican sunhats. i picked up some flowers to keep on my desk, because I think just having them around makes me happier.
I went to the Draught House last night, and it was packed like I have never seen it. There was a mariachi band in the lot! Craziness. I drank a few beers, talked a lot and came home late. It was good. It made my week seem less crazy and ugly.
The grocery store trip provided me with sunscreen, flowers, juice, pop rocks and ten shiny Texas postcards. Who wants a postcard? They're awesome.
