So, I took my pills last night and had spectacular bizarre dreams. They were heavily WoW influenced, and my high school friend Christian was there, and it was just all out of whack. So I went to the dentist this morning, where they joked that I must not have taken enough because I was still walking and talking. They wrapped me up in a blanket that left green fuzzy bits on my shirt and put a nice heated towel around my shoulders.
They gassed me up some while they did the cleaning first. The sound of that metal scraping on my teeth was almost more than I could bear, so they switched over to this water jet and that went much smoother. After the cleaning they gave me another ativan so I would be more floaty and set to work on the teeth. I don't remember much of that, thank you Jeebus. I had several cavities filled and two crowns done on my back upper molars. All in all it took four hours. My mouth felt drier than the time I smoked some damned strong marijuana overseas and my jaw ached from being propped open so much.
Tyler picked me up, took me to the pharmacy to get my vicodin and a milkshake on the way home. I've spent most of the afternoon napping. I've got a headache and the left side of my jaw aches something fierce as my grandfather would say. But it's alright. It went pretty well. I am more relieved that I got through it without crying or embarassing myself than anything else.
It's also pretty weird to take a look at my teeth in the mirror and see the difference the cleaning makes. I'm going to have to be so much more diligent about that from now on.
I still need to have two more crowns. But unless someone magically drops three grand in my lap, that won't happen anytime soon. If you'd like to drop three grand in my lap, apply within. Space is limited and management reserves the right to refuse applicants based on thoroughly specious criteria. Hah!
