1. If you could paint your walls, what color(s) would you paint them?If you were allowed any palette, and could decorate accordingly?

I think I would paint my bathroom scarlet and royal purple, to match my towels. I like the combination and it just screams decadent to me.
For the bedroom, I'd probably do a darker, dove grey color.
The living room would be red. I like red more and more these days.

2. What was your 42nd lj post? If it was locked, filtered, you don't need to reveal it, just--a reflection of-- anything=)

I went book shopping today at Half Price. I got:
Miss Lonelyhearts & The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West
When Things of the Spirit Come First by Simone de Beauvoir
The Eagle and the Sword by A.A. Attanasio
A People's Tragedy: A History of the Russian Revolution by Orlando Figes
a book of cool blank cards with sexy photos on them

It's chilly, and I just want to crawl into my bed and wrap myself in blankets, read and go to sleep.

3. Why Lucius?

In short, because I have a fondness for the bad guys. Really, I love his character because he has a lot of power and he doesn't quite seem to always use it wisely. Seriously, dropping the diary off with the Weasley kids? I really think that was a bad idea. But he must have really wanted to dig at Arthur and cause him grief. Anyways, back to what I was saying. I'm always cheering for the bad guys in horror films, and I like the idea of the tragic hero. You add in the sheer arrogance and the mystery of aristocratic, purblood Wizarding society and I'm sold. When I started writing aout him, I just felt such an intense affinity for the character and wanted to know what developed the persona and actions we see in the books. Here's a man who has made some very deliberate decisions to do certain things. Why is he doing them? What will he gain from this? I'm always drawn to anything and everything with class issues it seems.

4. Who now? Is there someone new? A new character that breathes in you, for you?

Lucius is alwyas going to occupy that place in my head and my heart. There's so much invested in him, and I know his story backwards and forwards. But right now? Well, there's Anna my werewolf bruiser. I like her, and she goes places I don't expect. Meier is probably my favorite character though I think we've both been so shell shocked in the past year that writing anything for him has been hard. Meier is like my son, the character I want to see grow up and be successful and happy. His story has changed a lot on me, and I'm not sure where it will end up.

5. What is a line from a song that encapsulates this year, that speaks for it, for you?

Okay- 2005, year of the divorce:
you were my lesson, I had to learn

2006:

I just want something
something for nothing
but nothing's unconditional
