orange moon rising
Sep. 7th, 2006 08:51 pmI am finally sitting down at my computer, having gotten myself stuck at work until 8pm, and then braving the grocery store. But at least I got to see the navy blue eastern sky, just moments after sunset, where the dusty orange moon was rising in enormous splendor. That sort of made up for it all.
Work was slammed today. I'm a sucker when someone praises my skills, so I solved a very difficult problem for my boss and another coworker that made everyone happy. I also entered a billion million ereports. It's nice to know that you can put up with two years of your neighbor using meth, leaving her needles on the street and sidewalk, constant drug traffic, frequent gunfire when she and her boyfriend shoot at each other during arguments, and the fact that the sex offender boyfriend takes the nine year old on long car rides. But when those kids start staying up past midnight and they aren't getting enough sleep for school, it's time to call CPS!! I wish I was kidding about this.
I've forgotten what it is like to come home to an empty apartment. It's nice in some ways. Though it probably only encourages bad habits. I don't have the heart or energy to clean the fridge right now.
While fantasizing about places to go and things to do while I spend my week in NYC, I ran across this place and now I'm determined to find myself some ginger vodka to make cocktails with because oh my god so good. I continue to fantasize about Russian food and alcohol while I have neither for dinner, because I forgot to go to the liquor store on the way home. Oh wait, I still have vanilla vodka! Thank you, Harris.
