Bob

Melynda posted an update about Bob this morning. They pulled one of the truck's bolts out of his leg, and Bob saved it for Krista. I laughed and then I cried, because that's just the kind of jack ass thing Bob would do.

He's going to be okay. Two other guys died.

it's christmas, please come home

Yesteray I went to the movies with my mother, my sister and her friend. Christmas Eve movies have been a tradition with us since 2001, when Fellowship of the Ring came out. This year we saw The Good Shepard, which I found to be a fine film. It was very tense, and I was pleasantly surprised by Matt Damon.

I spent the night with my mother. There was Luby's for dinner, and later wine. This year my mother had a bottle of Dom Perignon '98, a gift from her new boss for surviving the transition. I sat on the edge of the fireplace and petted cats until it was time to sleep. The wine was very good, and probably better than anything I've ever had before. It made me think of almonds, and cherries.

Christmas was good. I got the Luby's cookbook, which was a pleasant surprise and something I very much wanted. My mother gave me candles, picture frames, and a kit with all the things needed to wash and wax my car. There was also much candy, a new toothbrush, lipgloss, and a lavendar foot soak. My mother also gave me gift cards to Blockbuster and Best Buy. I'm unsure if I should buy some movies, games, or put it towards some kind of mp3 player. My mother and sister liked their presents. I got them each a pair of Wearable Sculpture earrings, as well as a bunch of soap, lotion and scrubs.

The most practical present was a new lamp. I've assembled it, and it will be nice to have much more functional lighting in my room. The new lamp called for a new arrangment of things. So I cleaned my room and rearranged the furniture. I don't think it has been this clean since I moved in to the place. I dusted and vacuumed and washed four loads of laundry. I threw out two bags of trash. I'm thinking very hard about the need to have less junk.
