Curse of the Golden Flower is the most colorful, iridescent movie ever. Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li are sort of terrifying in this movie. It's intense. I really love the crazy sort of epic feel the story has, and the ending, whoa.

The stress is making me queasy and it is hard to make myself eat. Yesterday I couldn't even finish my french toast, which made me sad. I guess on the bright side, I've lost about five pounds. Argh. I would be a lot happier without this sort of ongoing feeling though.

I took the car in this morning to have them reboot the key fob. When I hooked the battery back up, I was able to make the dome lights turn off. Of course, while I was at the dealership it didn't do anything weird. The service guy even drove it around the block and down the highway a bit. They told me to bring it back if it keeps happening. When I parked at work, the alarm went off. I don't know if I accidentally hit the button, since I was holding the keys. It hasn't done it again so far. I can feel how tense my neck is, waiting for it to go off again.

All I want is for my car to be working so I can drive around this weekend with the sunroof open.

Well the car hasn't done anything weird all day. I suppose I'll have to go check on it every hour tonight to make sure it doesn't spazz out with the alarm and enrage my neighbors again. Terror, terror, terror. I've noticed when I lock the car it doesn't beep anymore. For awhile I stopped feeling queasy but it's back again. I'm sort of hungry though. My throat is bothering me too. In the past week when I swallow I can feel the scar tissue back there. I don't know why it is bothering me right now, when I've lived with this for ten years. It's annoying, and crazy making, and does not help my hypochondriac tendencies. (Every time I feel bad my first thought is that I'm dying of cancer.) Consistency, consistency.

One of my coworkers just said "We're not paid to care! I'm not going to waste my time being sympathetic to someone crying on the phone." Lord. You know, I understand how it gets vexing to deal with people who call and cry/scream/wail about stuff that's so not abuse but whiskey tango foxtrot? I am so often horrified by people.

I made an appointment for dental cleaning on Monday. These things are so expensive. I can't afford to take on the debt for getting my lower jaw fixed yet. I just hope they tell me I don't have any new cavities. I need to make some other doctor appointments for February, but I've just put off thinking about them. Going to the doctor spikes my blood pressure. I hope they don't want more blood.

Just one more day to slog through tomorrow and then I get a weekend. Then I get to have my weekend of barbeque, kolach and the sound of my Slinky Planet Moscow cds once again. Oh happiness. I really am looking forward to driving around, even though I've never been big on long distance driving. There's a brilliant place in Taylor, kolache down 71, and a lot of pretty country to cover. It's too bad the Shiner brewery is not open on weekends, or I could go ogle the giant vats of fermenting grains. Mmm beer.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The dome light in my car is misbehaving again. After multiple attempts I think I got it to turn off.

All I want to do right now is swear and break things. This is freaking me out. I don't want a demon car.

Travis sheriff’s detectives seek help in finding burglar injured by family dog

Thursday, January 25, 2007, 02:26 PM

From the Travis County Sheriff’s Deparment:

Sometime during the afternoon of Wednesday, January 24, 2007, a suspected burglar met a family dog inside a residence. Evidence indicates that the dog showed his displeasure in having a stranger in the house and caused significant injuries to the suspect.

The incident occurred in East Travis County, at 13213 Wine Cup Mallow Trail. Detectives believe that the suspect had already broken into another residence in the neighborhood and saw one of the owners leave. The suspect then went into the second residence and met the family dog, who did not receive any injuries in the incident.

Detectives say that there is significant DNA evidence at the scene that indicates that the suspect has several dog bite injuries that will need medical attention.

The dog was allowed to stay at the residence during the 10 day observation period for rabies.

Anyone with information on the burglary, or the identity of the suspect, is asked to call Sheriff’s Detective Craig Hutchinson at 512-854-7417.
