My ninja skills are in top form. I have this crazy skill - I can get ahold of law enforcement anywhere, anytime, and get them to help me. For instance, I could get them to go into their fracking lobby to pick up the suicidal sixteen year old calling FROM THE LOBBY OF THE POLICE STATION. To be fair, the officer I talked to said things were insane and hectic up there right now. The police are getting slammed with the same sort of crazy we're getting here. But still, you think someone in the lobby might pick up on this. The kid had already tried to kill herself twice in the past week. I kept having this fearful vision of her trying to suicide by cop. But she's safe now, at least for the moment.

I've slowly coming to the conclusion that I am partly an adrenaline junkie, despite a distaste for roller coasters and jumping out of planes. But I never perform so well as I do when every moment matters.

(And now I'm going to go sit outside with the ipod and hope for a miracle for this kid.)

4. What is the first movie you remember seeing? What makes it, the experience or the movie, memorable?

My father and his friend Roy took me to see the original Transformers movie in the theater in 1986. I remember how big the screen looked, the darkness of the seats and the angle of the floor. I loved Transformers, so I was thrilled. That's when I learned to love the dark of the theater and the overwhelming feeling of a giant screen.

5. If the question were not cake or pie, but brownies or either, what would the answer be?

That's also hard. My first loyalty is always to pie of course. Pie is the most perfect of food forms. Brownies are good, but they are no pie.
