pet food and medicine and the apocalypse
Mar. 20th, 2007 11:51 amMy supervisor's dog was deathly ill a couple weeks ago. The vet clinic had no idea what caused the lethargy or the drooling or inability to eat. But he seemed to recover quickly. She was largely feeding him things she cooked at home. To try to make things more palatable for him last week, she added some Hill Country Fare food. He got sick again. After checking the packages, it seems that the tainted food was the cause. My poor supervisor looks so horrified that she could have lost her pet to this. What boggles my mind is that seven animals died in food tests, but this didn't seem to alarm anyone. She's pretty angry, and rightfully so.
Spring Break is over and work is busy. At least I'll be training the newbies nonstop over the next three weeks. This also means I get normal weekends for the next four weeks! Exciting.
Last night I dreamed about the end of the world again. It wasn't very pleasant. Also, someone bearing an awful close resemblence to Travolta was trying to kill me over and over again. I really do not like waking up at 6am from apocalyptic dreams full of fire and ruin. This needs to stop. I've been sleeping pretty badly five our of seven days a week it seems. I'm slightly hesistant to take the medication I have for this though, because I'll probably be in that 1% of the population who drives in their sleep and drops five grand on eBay. Talk about a terrifying side effect.
