it seems to happen that way
Aug. 24th, 2007 02:30 pmTechnically I'm not supposed to say anything until they make the formal announcement, whcih will probably happen on Monday. But I feel that probably only applies to the office and not to my blog. Hah!
I have been offered a position as a peer trainer specialist. Basically this means I will do a lot of the work I've been volunteering to do over the past eighteen months. I will assist in the training of new hires, and go even further by writing evaluations, listening to recorded calls, and doing a lot of that little work that slows the trainers down. I'm looking forward to it, because it means learning new things and having new responsibilities. It also means I get to work Monday through Friday, and I don't have to take calls anymore. There's no raise, since it is considered a lateral transfer. But I'm going to have opportunities I wouldn't have in my current position. (Plus, no Saturdays! Regular weekends for the first time in years!)
I checked my email just now, and had to stifle my laughter. They just posted four new shifts to offer to the floor, which is what I've been trying to do all year long. They are all Monday to Friday shifts. Hah. I did get a nice email from the big uberboss today though, and that made me feel appreciated.
Summer time is winding down, though it feels like the heat only really just started here. I didn't swim as much as I wanted to but it is okay. Tomorrow I'm picking up my new kitty Nod and bringing him home to live in comfort for the rest of his years. I'm going to finish a bunch of stories that are scrambling round my brain, do some cooking, maybe eat some salsa. (I made a big batch the other day.) I'm thinking about ordering a custom piece from Kythryne if I ever make up my mind. For all that this is not what I expected of my life, I feel okay in my own skin right now.
