I can't believe it's not even ten, because it feels like it should be well after midnight already. such a busy day. We drove to Caldwell this morning, which was a much shorter drive than I remembered and very pretty. Once there it was hard to find parking as the town was packed. I heard polka music and Czech music and watched people dance and wished I lived in a place like that so I could join the Czech choir or some such silly thing. Not that I can sing. I ate a bit ear of roasted corn, which would have made an awesome "I have corms nom nom nom" macro. Mike was astounded by the deliciousness and did not believe that it was free of butter or fixings. We also had funnel cake, brisket sandwiches, cherry and apricot kolache (they were out of sausage and poppyseed by the time we got there!) and delicious lemonades and limeades. There were antique tractors, and all sorts of random fair type things. It was so brutally hot and hot and humid that I couldn't even attempt to have a beer. Mike and I both have bright red sunburns now, though at least he bought himself a hat to keep his head safe. My forehead is red. Gah. The drive home went mercifully quick and once home I took the coldest shower I could manage to scrape off the dust and sweat and sugar. I even fell asleep for a couple hours I think. We had a late dinner with Tyler and discussed his job search and moving. Our waitress made fun of Mike's drink order because it was large and fruity. Last I checked we were winning the football game. Koshka likes to fall over on my foot and roll around while I pet him. He purrs so loudly. Today he let me pick him up and hold him for a little bit. I really need to trim those nails, ouch.
