horse races
Nov. 21st, 2007 06:57 pmWork felt eight years long. At least there were sandwiches. I made brownies with butterscotch. Then we left a little early. When I walked out of the office, it felt the same as morning - still warm and slightly sticky. By the time I made it home it had dropped several degrees. Finally, we might have some autumn weather.
When I got home, I found that Mike bought me a pony. I have named him Ormonde, after a British racehorse of the late 19th century. He is very soft and large. No one has purchased me a pony since I was about eight, I believe. My two earliest stuffed animals were ponies, a golden one I called Baby Pony and a larger brown one called Daddy Pony. Don't ask me, I was four. I have no idea why I named them so. I also had a bunch of Breyer Horses. My mother loves horses. I've maybe only ridden a half dozen times in my life, but I love it.
The running joke since I got divorced was that I wasn't going to marry again unless someone bought me a pony. Haha.
