try not to fall of the planet entirely

Despite the unappealing aspect of waking up early on a Saturday morning, I'm sort of glad I did. I made it to the gym, to yet another class with a different instructor. We did many intervals, and I can feel the soreness in my arms. Truthfully, it was sort of brutal. Hooking one's feet under the bar at the side of the pool, then attempting to both float the head and do crunches is exhausting. I thought I might just drown instead. At least I learned how I managed to scrape up my knuckles so I can try to avoid that in the future. Two of the instructors have stopped me and asked how I'm doing, how I'm liking the class. Both of them stated they felt I was working hard, and it was nice to feel like I'm not the ungraceful kid in the class anymore. I think I might not have hated gym class and by extension dance if a) it hadn't been high school, and b) I hadn't been so self conscious and socially isolated.

It is superbly weird to find yourself sweating in the pool however. I can feel myself flushing when my heart rate goes up.

I'm craving sushi terribly, but already did my eating out for the weekend. Alas. Though I did promise to make Mike another key lime pie, so I have to go out to the store later. The first pie was a success at his office Pi Day pie party. I made the pie with a graham crust and the juice of many, many little limes squeezed. Originally I wanted to stencil the Pi symbol on top in some green sugar I flavored with lime juice, but I messed up. So I ended up spreading the green sugar in a thing layer across the top of the pie, and using white sugar to stencil on top. I think it looked even better than way. Mike took a photo of the pies for me. The banana cream, pecan and cherry pies each have a slice or two cut out. There's only one slice left of the key lime, and apparently it had to be divided into four tiny slices. Yay. I am happy when my food is delicious.
