Nothing is quite so delicious as the smell of vanilla, butter, and berries at 2:30am. Why yes, I am making a crisp. This way it will be all ready to eat tomorrow. Making pies in the middle of the night is a tradition for me, so I decided to expand my range this year. Crisps! Crumbles! Cobblers! Mmm fruit.

May. 4th, 2008 10:44 pmToday was the showing of Mildred Pierce at the Drafthouse, with all you could eat pie & Amy's ice cream. I had little slices of cherry pie, rustic blueberry, blackberry, strawberry rhubarb, blood orange meringue, fudge, coconut cream, and an almond chocolate coconut pie. It was all extraordinarily delicious and fun. My favorite was the blueberry, with its barely touched berries and crumbly crust. The tart cherry came close, and the coconut pies were amazing.
