the world is slightly askew
May. 9th, 2008 02:45 pmIt's summer hot, and humid. The sky is blue grey and it almost seems that the air smells of swimming pool chlorine. It is certainly hot enough to make one want to shave off all their hair. I think if we had any clippers in the house I might have already done it.
brienze and I had lunch at this Mediterranean buffet of dubious reviews. My verdict - pretty decent lunch for $10. The fresh pitas are omg delicious, and the lamb is fall apart tender. I had fresh salad of cucumbers, tomato, mint, onion and parsley. The beef kebabs were excellent stuffed in a pita with some veggies. Overall, probably one of the best healthy lunch choices on that end of town. (far north 183, where Serrano's used to be by Kerbey.)
My chocolate cherry cream pie fillings are setting up in the fridge. Will report back later on their status. I added some red food coloring to heighten the difference. Tonight I will roast chicken and make mashed potatoes. I seem incapable of producing small quantities of mashed potato, but that's okay. It is good for snacks.
Even just walking around the kitchen made me sweat like a horse on a thirty mile run. Ugh.
