perhaps some post of substance
Sep. 29th, 2008 10:52 pmWe had a party this weekend, which was fun. Lots of people came, and we have a bunch of bottles of wine. (There were even some presents, which was unexpected and sweet.) Cupcakes were eaten, conversation was had, and most of the books are on shelves. One day I'll get around to organizing or alphabetizing somehow. We at least separated the fiction and non-fiction. The only odd note of the night was the large number of police cars who blocked off the street a few houses down for a couple hours. Ahh suburbs - my neighbors were sitting in their driveways watching and talking. I've no idea what happened. I saw tow trucks. Given the multiple police cars, I think it was a raid of some kind.
Ever since Saturday, I've just been tired. Worn out tired, not wanting to work tired. I didn't make it to the grocery store until 5pm today. I spent my morning watching Day Watch, which took some radical departures from the novel's complex plots. It was still entertaining however. I wish I could see some of these actors in more stuff.
I have made it through this first round of LJ Idol. The week 2 topic is "what I 'should' care about but don't actually." Trying to think of something for this is a pain. I care about lots of things, even absurd things, I take almost everything too seriously. Urgh.
