Finally saw Watchmen today, so now I have to go back and read all the LJ entries I skipped in the past week. I really enjoyed it, experiencing odd thrills from random moments (Oh God Andy Warhol love) and the soundtrack. Watching this movie, I experienced the strange foreboding I remember from my early childhood associated with the specter of utter annihilation and the Cold War. I don't think anyone much younger then me would necessarily get that, or recognize it for what it is. I think the nuclear fears of this time are very different from the ones then and the entire dynamic is different.

Overall, it was very good. It was even worth braving the hipster SXSW crowd.

The music and editing of the Star Trek preview were good - it for a moment made me want to see it. But what really totally floored me was the Terminator: Salvation trailer. Sweet merciful gods, the gritty grey dirt and the NIN and Christian Bale and the machines...
