Apr. 19th, 2009 02:30 pmThis morning we hauled ourselves up early for a super awesome fantastic Alamo Drafthouse benefit. This one is supporting the outreach programs of our local EMS crews, as the city gives them zilch. (I am hoping to finally learn CPR from them. High school health class did not provide the opportunity.)
To celebrate, we watched one of the best movies in the history of the universe, Mother, Jugs & Speed. Seriously, so awesome I cannot even begin to think of superlatives grand enough. Bill Cosby is a crazy, sarcastic bastard, Harvey Keitel is SO YOUNG and CUTE, and Raquel Welch looks hot in a blinding white jumpsuit. OH, and Larry Hagman is a super bastard and hilarious.
If you have the chance to watch this movie, do it - apparently it is out on DVD as that was a raffle prize. Yes, there was a raffle too! Sadly we did not win the super fancy grill tool set but I did end up with a gift certificate. Yay!
OMG - the Drafthouse has fried Twinkies on the spring menu. And corndogs. I couldn't bring myself to eat a fried Twinkie for breakfast, but one night... The bacon cheddar scones are deliciously crumbly and savory.
