Monday has been pretty good. Lunch with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
brienze is always good, because it usually involves sushi or dumplings or some other delicious item. For a change I managed to order just the right amount of sushi to be deliciously stuffed and not too much. Om nom nom, tako tako tako and tai. Our meandering conversation turned towards yarn, so I followed along for a trip to the yarn store with every color of yarn one could ever want. They make ergonomic crochet needles now. Fancy. There was also a side trip to the liquor store and our pantry now has two kinds of rum. I'm thinking of making a rum coconut cake.
I also won a giveaway on Candy Yum Yum, one of a couple of candy blogs I read. I like candy blogs.
Mad Men Cupcakes - This is a white cake with Jack Daniels frosting and a candy cigarette with "ashes," aka cookie crumbs Seriously, follow the link and check out the picture because it looks fantastic and now I want to make them.
This weekend I attempted to make squash zucchini pancakes but the squash was just too damp and it all fell apart in the pan. Mike swears it was tasty though. I'm trying to decide if I have the energy to cook dinner. My body has apparently heard one too many commercials for that stupid contraceptive that only lets you have four periods a year and has decided that is the route to go I suppose. Being spared for months made me forget how utterly unpleasant it really is.
My weather tab on the local news swears the high was 92 today. That's ten degrees lower than last week. Weird. It's a sorry state of affairs when 92 feels cool.
