I went to my eye doctor appointment super early, since last time I got lost and ran from building to building in a terror. It gave me some time to try on various frames in their tiny store. Now I'm shopping Zenni and trying to decide how adventurous I'm feeling. This grey pair is one of my favorites right now. I also sort of like this pair in the black and silver. At the office I tried on a similar pair with the open temples and found them surprisingly flattering. But then there's also the whimsical star pattern to consider.

Perhaps I should give in and order both pairs, so as to have backup glasses and because even together they would be less than anything from the office. (Even after the meager sum from the insurance.)

They took photos of the insides of my eyes with some strange new machine and did all the usual measuring. My astigmatism has simply shifted a little and my vision degraded only slightly. That's good news I suppose.

I walked a little and kept my shoes on all day. I found a silver pair of Adidas in the closet, maybe only worn a couple of times. I don't even remember buying them. So I leave them on, in hopes it will trick my brain into exercising. I need to exercise more, anyhow. Over the past two years I've gained a lot of weight. A lot. It's no good. I feel stupid and slow, unable to move in quite the same way. I am terribly out of shape. The whole thing shames me deeply, stupidly. I am never going to be a size six, not with these genes and useless hips. But I would settle for being in better shape.

Just writing that paragraph has taken half an hour.
