cleaning, olympics
Feb. 14th, 2010 01:50 pmI love my pets deeply. They are a joy. But they do create a lot of mess, even on good days. Sometimes I wish I had a switch to turn the house into a giant wind tunnel to blow away the copious amount of hair they shed. How a cat can lose so much hair and still remain fluffy and furry is a great mystery.
Today I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned, because it was randomly seventy degrees and sunny after weeks of freezing rain. I pulled the screens off the living room windows and scrubbed them inside and out. It is sort of weird to find such satisfaction in chores. That's not something I expected in life. But since we moved into this house I've found myself changed.
My email box overflows. I was emotionally drained earlier this week. I need to clean things out soon.
The Winter Olympics are on and I'm pleased. I love, love, love the Olympics. Totally absurd sports become fascinating, rituals of devotion for all these men and women. I love their stories, their excitement, even their disappointments. I love to see their incredible feats, the almost superhuman speed and strength and grace.
The biathalon is on right now and damn that's crazy hard.
