slow going
Aug. 19th, 2010 10:56 pmI feel like I haven't accomplished anything today. I did finish a book, read a chapbook, read most of a magazine and take a four hour nap. I've been so tired the past couple of days. Exhausted really. I'd like that feeling to go away soon.
Reading the blogs of various servers in various types of dining and drinking establishments reinforces the knowledge there is a difficult, exacting type of work I will never master. I'd kill someone before the first day was over. It also sort of reinforces my policy that if we dine out somewhere and you're a jerk to the wait staff, I probably won't hang out with you again. Gene used to rib me for tipping heavily. But I feel like it isn't a hardship to me and tipping generously is a small attempt to balance out the universe.
About the only thing I feel like I've really done today is some thinking about a character I'm writing for an online RPG I joined. It's a very small crowd, but it is well established and has an interesting premise. I feel like I'm writing something different from a lot of things I've tried before and it pleases me. After all, who doesn't want the chance to write about a brewer who lives in a spooky orchard with his sister and had cultists for parents?
I think right now my favorite people are Lady Gaga and John Cleese.
