Apr. 23rd, 2011 09:14 amI read Lost & Found by Shaun Tan this morning. It is a beautiful, fantastic thing. There is melancholy but also a strange sort of hope. (It includes The Lost Thing, which I saw during the Academy award short film presentations a few months back. It won the animated category.) Mike found it on a shelf when we wandered the bookstore last weekend and I've waited for a quiet morning to read through it undisturbed. The art is quite rich and compelling, the stories simple and poetic.
Also, quite randomly, there is an article in the NY Times about Tan, which you can read here.
