road day 2 nm to az
Jun. 8th, 2011 07:00 amI have driven over a thousand miles so far. My hands ached from fighting the strong winds all the way, so I ended up buying some leather driving gloves that make my life more comfortable. Now I just need a dashing scarf.
Today's weird sights include the tremendous smoke clouds. It was actually hazy in Texas but it was very smoky through New Mexico and into Arizona. You could smell it everywhere.
When we got on the interstate, we ended up next to an RV pulling a huge grill and a giant smoker shaped like an armadillo. I chased it for miles so Mike could get a picture. Follow colmmcsky on lj or twitter to see our random photos. I can never take them since I do all the driving. Also I take shaky pictures. Once I had an app meant to wait til my phone camera was steady. It never let me take a picture!
Soon we are off on a steam train to the Grand Canyon. Yesterday I bought myself a worry stone at a roadside stand. It made me miss Grandpa fiercely.
