Jul. 1st, 2011 08:16 pmToday I found that Vin Diesel action movies are possibly even better than seductive period pieces. Less concentrating on dialogue and more fast paced music and explosions. Plus it was a little shorter, at only 100 minutes. But I went almost as far, so I think overall my speed was higher. Anyhow, Plan Watch More Movies But Exercise More Too is off to a good start.
Then there was delicious Friday sushi lunch, followed by more frozen yogurt. Yes, I am developing a frozen yogurt problem. It's so good though and given how horrible the weather is with the burning sun and unpleasantly variable humidity I think it is okay.
There are only two basically vegetarian dinners I like. One is pasta salad when one forgets to add shrimp or chicken. The other is when I sit down and consume a cup and half of fresh salsa with some chips. Oh I love fresh salsa. I will eat it until my stomach hurts.
One of my absolute favorite websites is STFU Parents, which is full of hilarious and terribly wrong things people post on the Book of Faces. It makes me laugh, because the author often writes hilarious stuff about not so hilarious things. (And really, the day anyone I know feels compelled to post photos of their lovely child's feces is the day I screen cap it, submit it and then un-friend them. Because your shit pictures should be between you and your doctor.)
Anyhow, it should not come as any surprise that the creator of this site receives a certain amount of negative comments and nasty emails from people. Sometimes she makes a really hilarious post about it. But yesterday, she posted "From now on, every time someone engages me in a hostile & negative way I'm going to donate to a charity." I love this idea, and a friend of mine is already putting it into effect in her life. Every time her dad says something racist, sexist or otherwise horrible, she's throwing some change in an account for a monthly donation to something that would really tick him off. Like anything Jane Fonda supports, for example. Apparently that would really get his goat if he knew, which makes it sweet and subversive.
Every time Governor Good Hair opens his mouth, I'm deeply embarrassed. I almost wish he would jump for the Republican nomination just so he would have to leave office. Or that a rabid bat would take him out.
