Homemade gumdrops, by me!

After spilling boiling sugar gelatin mix on the stove top I managed to get the candy poured into pans and chilled overnight. Today I cut pieces and rolled them in sugar. Now the wait for the gumdrops to firm up begins! Orange is orange flavor, red is cherry, green is peppermint and blue is cinnamon.

Today was a better day.

Mike took my car in for its annual inspection and a trip check. He likes visiting the mechanic dudes, who seem quite bemused by the number of road trips we appear to take. The sweet side is that my car is in good shape for driving to Houston this weekend.

Since I couldn't drive away, I made myself do some chores I put off doing. I did some laundry, and cut a bunch of gumdrops and rolled them in sugar. I swept the garage, watered the pear tree and walked to the mail box. (Doing that made me feel slightly ill and was probably not a good idea at 1:30pm.) I wrapped a present and funded two successful Kickstarter projects today. (The neat cookie cutters and a documentary film about a fascinating murder mystery case.) Then I made meatloaf & garlic bread for Mike because it is his favorite thing.
