So I had weird dreams for days and days, leading up to a night where it felt like I woke up every fifteen minutes. (I would blame the vodka based beverage I had yesterday, but seriously how is a shot of vodka fucking my sleep up that awfully?) Anyhow, all this stuff sort of blended together into a story idea and now I'm working on that. It's rare that something comes so completely and I actually feel like writing it down.
The hardest part has been naming everyone, which is not a usual problem for me. I solved one bit by naming my least favorite character after someone I actually dislike a lot. But that person has no real connection to me, will never read this and has no other resemblance to the character besides being unlikable. So I think that is alright.
Writing today has made me long for a cigarette. Terribly. I don't know why years after quitting I'm having such horrendous cravings.
Car crisis averted by replacing the gas cap. Yay. Groceries acquired for brownie baking. I've been on such a brownie baking tear. Thank goodness Mike has an office that will unabashedly consume all these baked goods. Brownies planned include another chocolate coconut with a chocolate frosting and a pecan caramel swirl brownie. I had to buy the larger size carton of heavy cream so I needed something to use the rest of it, hence caramel.
I also made a shrimp stock on Sunday after delicious taco brunch with Jill & Josh. I think I might try my hand at making some decadent bisque with it.
The lightning was so tantalizing tonight, but all the storms swept north of us. Sad. The lake is so low all the boat ramps are closed. It was 100 degrees today.
