You know how the people across the street disappeared recently? I saw something weird this evening. A car parked about three houses down the street and an unfamiliar woman got out. She walked to each house and went to the doors. At first I thought she was walking the block sticking junk mail on our door knobs, as people do. But she stood around in the driveway of Creepy Yard house, as if she was trying to look in and then walked back to the door. It was dark at both places so I couldn't see what she was doing. At Tejano Music house, she seemed startled by the yapping of some small dog. Then she walked back to the car, spoke with someone standing at the open trunk and they both left in the car.

Yes I know, spying on my neighbors. In all fairness, I observed this five minutes of weirdness standing in my front yard where I was enjoying the wind and onrushing cold front. But I probably wouldn't have noticed the sudden disappearance of any other neighbors. No one else on this block annoys me quite so damn much. While I have many theories, it seems extra weird both sets of people would vanish at once. Though there is a car parked in front of Tejano Music house today. Normally there are three cars or more. Foreclosures? Evictions? Possible involvement in the coyote ring holding people hostage that was busted recently? I haven't seen moving trucks or police cars or anything. It drives me a little crazy not to know, but maybe it is more fun to make up stories.

That car is back and is now parked on the street across from us. There's also one of the cars I recognize as being a frequent member of Tejano House's driveway crowd. Crazy!
