Today I was leaving the house when I noticed a stranger walking up to the door of Creepy House and peering in the windows. Feeling slightly wary and slightly concerned he might be casing the house, I stopped and called out to him. It turns out he was from the bank, checking to make sure no one had broken into the house, and that the house was in foreclosure. Well, that answers that. It's awful, but I'm glad it was foreclosure and the residents are not all still in there dead or some other sinister option. I said I would keep on eye on the place, because I am a nosy neighbor.

Tejano House has been unusually quiet. Where have all its music loving members gone? I've only seen one car at a time there, somewhat sporadically. edit I spoke too soon. Tejano House is rocking, quietly. I think the dude is doing some car maintenance. But just the one dude and none of the other residents.

Last night saw a large number of kids ringing the bell, far more than last year. I even ran out to get some extra candy and there were crowds on the block. As much as I really don't care for children, I can really get behind a ridiculous holiday centered around dressing up and getting free candy. Mike was still in his Voldemort costume and we switched the porch light out for a creepy reddish orange bulb. He would step into the doorway and stand there a minute just staring at the kids in order to freak them out. A couple kids ran away screaming, including some teenagers. That was hilarious.
