So many things to write about, since the last.
We went to a Google party, where I finally saw A Christmas Story all the way through. That XKCD comic about how every year the Baby Boomer generation tries to recreate the Christmas of their childhood seems really true after watching that movie. I ate more of those delicious baked pretzels the Alamo has on the menu right now.
Cate & John came by to visit our house and have some delicious potato soup. We drank some decent red wine with absolutely ridiculous label copy and had pie and it was quite fun. Of course having guests meant we did a lot of that fussy cleaning that slides, like windexing the bathroom mirror. Haha.
I slept late, and woke up to learn that Vaclav Havel died. It just gutted me, it really did. Havel was symbolic of everything that made me fall in love with the Czech Republic. I have such enormous respect for a man who spent his entire life trying to reconcile his morals with the ugly business of government. The world is a poorer place without him here.
I've decided to play more video games. So to that end, Mike did the grunt work of upgrading my computer with a new video card, hard drive and more RAM. (And put up with me cursing and raging about the difficulties of getting my Firefox bookmarks to import properly on the new terabyte size drive.) I feel so old knowing the amount of RAM I have is almost as much disk space as my first computer. Damn.
We are recovering from that ordeal by watching the delightfully ridiculous Conan.
