early birthday presents
May. 21st, 2012 06:14 pmToday has been surprisingly good for a Monday.
I got up and took a walk at 7am. That's kind of weird for me. But I really just needed to be moving and outside of the house. Later the mail came and brought all sorts of good things. The best was a birthday present from my gamer friend - he sent me a whole package of tshirts. There's Combichrist and Grendel and Covenant and Terrorfakt and Rotersand, all black band tshirts like the sort of thing I would covet as a moody teenager. He's heard me say more than once that I'm going to have to buy new clothes because all my shirts fit weird now, and we talk about music all the time. So it was the perfect, sweetest present. Aww.
By some strange coincidence, his birthday presents were delivered to his house at almost the exact same time. (I mailed them really early, not knowing what was up with the UK post after the disasters involved in mailing cereal a month ago - his birthday is actually six days after mine.) Eeee. I sent him a giant box of Lucky Charms and a book of amazing pinup art which he liked. Yay.
We goofed around all afternoon, played some Minecraft, and talked about the wonders of potatoes. Pretty good for a Monday.
