bad at journaling again
Dec. 6th, 2012 12:16 pmI don't know why I'm not writing.
Yesterday the mail brought me a fascinating book and a box of fantastic British sweets from the Yuletide candy and book swaps. I feel quite lucky and humbled by the glorious bounty of words and pfeffer nusse on my kitchen table right now. I need to finish 2017 so I can get cracking on The Sparrow.
My Christmas tree is up, all glorious seven and a half feet of it decorated with glowing LED lights and a handful of Squishable micros. (The android, the narwhal, the red panda and the T-Rex) Plus a tiny gingerbread house from my UK candy swapper. It makes me so happy. I don't know why, but the whole holiday comes down to the trees and colored lights for me. That's all I want.
Much of my time is eaten up in my volunteer job doing community management for a website. What can I say, I'm good at it and I like doing it.
I have this problem with learning Norwegian in that my accent either sounds French or Russian. I have yet to crack that puzzle.
Today is my friend Vicki's birthday. Vicki is my favorite dancing redhead from the club. We met on the Cure tribute night. She came up to me to say that she had seen me dancing to almost every single song and it made her happy, because that's her favorite band. We did birthday shots at midnight and drank some terrible peach vodka concoction later, which has given me such a headache today. I ended up staying in bed until 11am.
