Just came home from Harry Potter. Haven't seen a movie on opening day in ages. Got out of the habit when I started dating someone who wasn't into film. Pretty cool. I have the feeling that if I had seen that movie when I was younger, it would have infected me with an intense enthusiasm. I felt some of that tonight, the eleven year old inside reaching out with delight. I loved the broom flying, and the spiky haired instructor. Makes me want to be a professor of Magic when I grow up. I had a great time, and I'm glad Melynda insisted we go.
Previews for a number of movies. Notably an insanely bad animation about wild mustangs. We almost died with laughter afterwards in the silence because a kid in front of us whispered loudly, "That was so cool." Good to see sarcasm starts early.
The preview for the newest episode of Star Wars was fascinating, in terms of revealing the history of Luke's parents. Other than that, it didn't excite me much. A shot of Boba Fett and some fancy space scenes were the best parts, and seeing Anakin start to crack.
The preview for Lord of the Rings however... I think I forgot to breathe. It looked Incredible. Beyond my wildest expectations. I can not wait to see it.
So I had much fun. Especially standing in the parking lot with Melynda talking about impossible desires when we broke into Nine Inch Nails. I'm drunk and I'm so in love with you and right now I don't care too much about what I should or shouldn't do... It was a truly grand moment. I love that girl.
Worked my way out of the crowded lot and drove home, with my mix cd blasting away. I wish you could have seen me then, wearing one of my favorite shirts, singing along to "#1 Crush" and shifting into fifth gear on Mopac. I was amazing.
