buy something and get out
Oh, there are Harry Potter action figures. I want a Professor Snape one. Madly.
Working retail makes me angry, less tolerant. It's frustrating. There is very little reward in doing it all well it seems. For every person I make smile, I have three curmudgeons. Wednesday I became excessively furious with a man who came to the buy table. When I asked him questions, he would just look at me with this annoyed wide-eyed fish face. Just say ues and tell me your name damn it all! Today I had a woman perusing romance paperbacks at closing time. I asked her if she needed any help, and reminded her we were closing right then. She blithely remarked that she knew, and continued to stand there.
The tension in my back is incredible. It was knotted up before I'd been there two hours. I'm usually wire instead of muscle, but tonight I feel like steel cable wrapped around my bones. It aches.
Texas beat A&M 21-7 today. Melynda will come home happy.
