Listening to the closing arguments in Andrea Yates's trial. So sad. Admittedly, I'm not a juror, or privy to all the details. I believe she she acted in psychosis. The defense attorney is making an excellent point about prejudice against the mentally ill, and prejudice sees what it wants to see. Such tragedy. It must be horrible to live that way.
I remember talking to one of my professors in Prague about this, and other news from America. It seemed so unreal and so far away, in a palce where the beggest summer crime was the disappearance of a young girl.
Oh! Kevin wrote to me. How I've missed him, his wit, his kindness, his friendship. He's the only person from high school I still talk to at all. It's been five years, I realized today.
