why do all the drug addicts come to my store?
Oh.
The store was full of crack addicts today.
The best two by far:
-The woman stumbling around reeking of whiskey, without shoes, and with a black eye. She kept singing and mumbling incoherrently, then asked for books on "her people." In the Native American studies section she tried to kiss Noah.
-The woman who leaped at me when I exited the employee bathroom. "Where is the bathroom?" she screeched. I pointed calmly at the door behind her, clearly labeled "Customer Restroom." I told her where to get the key, and she began pounding on the door and rattling the lock. Then she flew up to the buy table and started yelling at Andrea and Diana, who just gave her the key. She made some bitchy comment about how they had lied to her about where the key was.
That's leaving out the pack of preteens, the cocaine addict selling his LP collection, and various other lovely characters. At least Brit was back at work today. He's been wretchedly ill. His lovely wife and daughter dropped by. Tomorrow I'm working at the northernmost store, packing for their mini-renovation. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Maybe I'll even get out early.
