we are the total of our longings

Reading The Summer Tree once again. These old Book Club editions, with the pictures of fantastic things. This old story. How much it means to me. I used to want to be Jennifer, but I know now how much it is that I'm more like Kimberly. Right down to the name. Kimberly is my middle name, after my mother's best friend.

The glass broke into the most beautiful shape and it's on my shelf in the bathroom.

Heh. Indeed.
That is by far my favorite fantasy series, because it blends so much together. I read them over and over as a child.
