Home, safely and soundly. Despite a freezing cold stay in Newark's airport for four hours this morning, a random Eddie Vedder sighting and a horribly screaming baby, I'm home. And I only forgot one pair of jeans.

Micah picked me up, and it was nice to see the wide sky again. We hung out and talked before I had to run off to work. My coworkers gave me a birthday cake decorated as the Czech flag, and it's sinfully sweet. My favorite kind, chocolate with white buttercream frosting.

It's nice to be home on my couch again, though I do miss the constant attentions of the cats. Reive has great cats. They talk and make faces and are generally inscrutable and catlike.

Turned in my notice tonight, which was remarkably painless. In two weeks, I will be merrily unemployed once more. There is so much to do that I can barely stand to think about it. Later I think I'll type up some things I wrote on the plane.

Well, rats! I hate that LJ canned the birthday alert feature. Anyway, I hope you had a happy one (sounds like you DID) and have many more.

And what the heck is it with Eddie Vedder? I always liked him, but I haven't even thought about the guy for months. But in the last 12 hours I've seen a documentary explaining the 'Jeremy' video, an SNL skit where Adam Sandler basically admits his love for the guy, and then this. If he were a bird, I'd think I had a new totem animal or something. Weird! So, did he have any messages for me? ;)

Yes. He asked me to tell you that he really thinks his next video should be shot in your pool. Oh and he really wants to try your sensory deprivation tank. ;)

Thank you muchly. Here's to having a birthday in a different city every year.
