For a relatively small country, the Czech Republic has a lot of police. They are everywhere, and David and I joke about Soviet they appear. The other night we came home around midnight from our coffee-ice cream dinner and five of them were in the Družba. One was carrying a metal briefcase, of the sort used to carry fingerprinting equipment and such. They trundled on up the 11th floor, and ever since I have been wondering what that was all about.

One of the scariest experiences ever was when we were on a train and got searched. I was sweating!!!

Eeek. I can imagine how un-fun that must have been.

The other day on the tram, the inspector came round asking for everyone's tickets. One girl from the dorm thought he was a beggar and shouted at him. It was so bad, and so funny.
