I hear the alarm clock
The only truly difficult part about sleeping on the couch is the noise, and the lack of true darkness. But I do feel more at home here, perhaps because I've spent all these years building a life outside of what I once was.
I dreamed a lot, about Gregg, and house foundations, and Brno, and things left unsaid. There were many cakes decorated with cherries and strawberries.
Some day, I want to see autumn with leaves that change colors.

Anyhow, I really got to see the leaves changing colors last weekend. It was really fantastic: scarlet reds, fluorescent oranges, bright yellow, deep purples.... when the sunlight hit them and the wind started blowing, it looked like a fire dancing. The intensity of the colors is amazing.
I did take some pictures, which I just got developed. I'll post them sometime soon. I'm sure that northerners will be unimpressed by them, but to a Texan..... they're really something.
