Listening to the commentary, and watching these hours of interviews, it becomes more and more clear that the people who worked on these films are undoubtedly some of the most amazing people on the planet. The development of the script, the constant evolution during the filming, the attempts to translate huge expository passages onto the screen... it's un-fucking-believable. All these stories, wrapped together, worlds and worlds without end.

Oh, what I wouldn't give...

The realization of LotR on screen is one of the things that made me get interested in acting again. That art can be a mission and not just a commodity, is something too often forgotten.
