These are the moments that I love to live in, in this paticular life.
Driving in the afternoon sunlight, with the music up loud. Grocery shopping with Melynda, and discovering they have ginger lemon cremes now at the store. Cooking beef stroganoff and thinking about ways to improve the recipe. Eating with Gene, and talking. Everyone reading, with a warm home and a chilly porch, and just a feeling of happiness in the moment. It's not fully articulate, but it is there.

AND i made beef stroganoff today!!! prior to reading this :) how did your's go? i combined about a billion recipes... i wasn't satisfied that they all called for so many spices.. i stuck with a little dijon, some dry sherry and the full fat sour cream. it was VERY YUMMY :)

the mustard gives it a little "zip"-- one of the recipes called for some lemon juice but i used the sherry from the other recipe instead. if you have dry mustard powder that will work in place of dijon too.
did you have mushrooms in addition to the onions? did you have egg noodles ? i *heart* eggnoodles :)
Re:
No mushrooms, since my roommates aren't big on them. I like to add them myself, because they thicken the sauce up and are tasty. Mmm, nice brown crimini mushrooms.
I will definitely use beef broth next time!
