ICELAND: BEER DAY
National Beer Day celebrates the end of a 75-year-long prohibition of
strong beer on this day in 1989. (For most of the century, national
laws only allowed a 2.2 percent brew.) Pubs are filled in the capital
of Reykjavik as people celebrate Bjordagur (as Beer Day is known
locally).

in the meantime, I'll just appoint that day after Wednesday as "interim beer day."

heheh. When the weather is nice, every Wednesday is Czech beer night for my department. They go down to Waterloo.
